Cycling lovers, lo and behold! World famous professional cycling race Tour of Croatia: 5 stages – 5 days – 840 km is coming to Croatia.
As many as 20 professional teams, of which 8 World Tour teams and 1 Croatian, will pedal over 5 counties and 10 cities from 22 to 26 April 2015. The five-day cycling event will be broadcasted on national television as well as on Eurosport channel.
World cycling elite will start their race in Makarska, and finish it in the capital. 25 April is an especially important date for the Northwest Istria and Umag. This is when the fourth race stage from Pula to Umag takes place. At this stage of the race, Umag, Novigrad, Brtonigla and Buje will once again assert the status of Northwest Istria as an ideal destination for cyclists.
1. Makarska – Split (160 km)
2. Šibenik – Zadar (180 km)
3. NP Plitvice – Učka (228 km)
4. Pula – Umag (152 km)
5. Sv. Martin na Muri – Zagreb (177 km)
If you’re still not aware of the importance of this race, let’s just say it is next in line after the Tour de France or Giro d’Italia. A good enough reason to open a new cycling season in grand style.
